AdvocacyAdvocacy at CHHSMCHHSM members are called to be faithful advocates for those in need, including those whom we serve through our ministries. We maintain an active relationship with UCC public policy advocates, and through a partnership with Lutheran Services in America (LSA), we strive to inform CHHSM member ministries about relevant public policy issues and provide them with information and resources to foster their advocacy. LSA has developed talking points on the 2006 Federal Budget in consultation with leaders in social services and social ministries; topics include Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities, Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly, Housing Programs, HUD Funding, and Child Welfare Funding (see sidebar, right). Do you have questions about CHHSM's advocacy services? Please call or email Vice-President for Member Services Bill Johnson, 216-736-2256, email. |
