Cedar Community Receives Grant to Help Offset COVID-19 Health Care Costs

UCC-related Cedar Community, based in West Bend, Wis., announced April 28 that it is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from West Bend Community Foundation’s West Bend Mutual Insurance Company Charitable Fund. The generous award will help Cedar Community offset healthcare costs directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our healthcare and support professionals are critical as the front-line defenders and caregivers for our residents,” says Lynn W. Olson, chief executive officer. “We could not be more thankful for the generosity from the leadership of West Bend’s charitable fund. This grant will help us serve residents who are at significant risk of falling victim to the COVID-19 virus.”

Like many other health care organizations, Cedar Community’s healthcare professionals are working around the clock to ensure the highest levels of precautions and care for assisted living, memory care, and long-term care residents. Cedar Community continues to follow federal, state, and local health department guidelines — many of which result in rising costs for additional staffing and increased personal protective equipment.
