Crossroad Child & Family Services Announces New President and CEO

Corinna England, chair of the Crossroad Child & Family Services Board, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Mullins as president and CEO of Crossroad Child & Family Services, based in Fort Wayne, Ind. He begins his new role Jan. 6, 2021, succeeding current Crossroad president and CEO Randall J. Rider, who retires in January.

Mullins has 20 years of experience working with child service organizations and at-risk youth, including 11 years as chief operating officer at Crossroad. He graduated summa cum laude from Ohio State University, earned his master’s degree in psychology from Bowling Green (Ohio) State University, where he currently is ABD (All But Dissertation) for his doctorate, and earned his MBA degree from the University of Northwestern Ohio.

Mullins also is a consecrated Diakonal Minister through the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries (CHHSM) and is an alumnus of Leadership Fort Wayne. He is a standing member of Our Children Our Future: the Allen County (Ind.) System of Care network and is an active committee member of the Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy (IARCA). 

Mullins will be the 13th administrator of the agency since it was founded in 1883.

Crossroad is a leader in the treatment of children suffering from mental health challenges. The agency serves more than 500 children per year in residential and non-residential services including Psychiatric Residential Treatment (PRTF), secure and open residential treatment, diagnostics, alternative education at Crossroad Academy, community wraparound and Family Preservation services, outpatient counseling, emergency mental health shelter care, and more.
