A Journey of Hope and Teamwork: Emmaus Homes Clients Score Points at Special Olympics
Clients from Emmaus Homes in St. Louis displayed their pursuit of bright futures in October, when they embarked on an inspiring journey to the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament in Jefferson City, MO. Held Oct. 28, the event raised nearly $7,000 for Southern Missouri Special Olympics. The event gathered more than 100 participants on 20 teams.
This event wasn’t just a competition; it was a testament to the power of unity, the joy of participation, and the embodiment of Emmaus’ campaign to foster hope and create bright futures. It paired Special Olympics athletes and members of the community as teammates. The unified approach helps create an environment of acceptance and inclusion. This event provided a unique opportunity to raise awareness for Special Olympics Missouri, showcase the abilities of its athletes, and share its message of unity and inclusion through the sport of bowling.
The Road to Jefferson City
Bowling has always been a regular activity for Emmaus clients living together. So, when the opportunity to compete in a bowling tournament arose, it was a perfect fit.
