Call for Workshop Proposals for First-Ever Gathering of Faith-Based HHS Organizations in March 2026

In a first-ever collaborative effort, four faith-based health and human service organizations will hold The Gathering: Many Gifts, One Spirit, March 24-26, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis. Some 500 attendees are expected from the four associations: UCC Council for Health and Human Service Ministries (CHHSM), Mennonite Health Services (MHS), Methodist Ministries Network (MMN), and the Presbyterian Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (PAHSA).

The Gathering is already calling for workshop proposal submissions. The event will include meaningful worship services, inspirational keynote addresses, and workshops centered around the theme, “Many Gifts, One Spirit,” based on 1 Corinthians 12:4-7:

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

The Hyatt Regency, featuring the iconic Bird’s Nest Restaurant, is in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.

“We are excited to bring together the health and human service professionals from CHHSM and our partner associations, said Jamar Doyle, CHHSM’s president and CEO. “The Gathering promises to be a unique opportunity to share resources and knowledge, meet new colleagues, and leave our time together inspired with renewed commitment for our work to create a just, caring, equitable, and compassionate world.”

The Gathering will include time for each association to meet on its own, and larger plenary opportunities for the four to join together in celebration and discussion. The meeting will include plenty of time for learning, listening, reflecting, and forming new ways to work together in ministry.

The Call for Workshop Proposals for The Gathering is now online, with the deadline for submissions set for midnight Friday, May 30. The timeline for The Gathering — including such deadlines as workshop proposals — is different from a normal CHHSM Annual Gathering, and was created to accommodate the needs of all four associations.

“The Gathering will be a one-of-a-kind experience,” added Doyle, “ so mark your calendars now for March 24-26, 2026. I look forward to seeing everyone next March in Indianapolis.”
