Retirement Housing Foundation Partners with UCC Hurricane Harvey Relief to Match Donations Up to $50,000
The Rev. Laverne Joseph, president and CEO of the United Church of Christ’s Retirement Housing Foundation, today announced a special partnership with the UCC’s Emergency USA Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief, which is designated specifically to help the communities and residents impacted by the storm.
“For those who choose to respond with a tax-deductible gift through RHF, donations received through September 30, 2017, will be matched up to $50,000 and sent through the Emergency USA Fund,” Joseph said. “So If we receives $50,000, RHF will respond with $100,000 in total aid.”
One hundred percent of the donations received will go directly to efforts supporting essential on-the-ground relief efforts.
To participate in the matching opportunity, donors can make gifts online or mail a check, made payable to RHF Charitable Foundation, noting “Hurricane Harvey” on the memo line, to: RHF – Disaster Relief, 911 North Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA 90815.
Harvey made landfall just south of Houston, Texas, as a category 4 hurricane. Since then, historic amounts of rain have hit Texas’ Gulf Coast and the surrounding areas have been afflicted with massive damage and flooding. The storm is expected to move toward eastern Texas and Louisiana, and heavy rains have already begun in those regions. RHF, a CHHSM-member ministry, has 16 communities in Texas.
