CHHSM Continues Search for CEO
By the Rev. Kenneth Daniel
The CHHSM board of directors has appointed a search committee to identify the next president and chief executive officer for CHHSM following the announcement of Bryan Sickbert’s retirement, which will be effective Dec. 31. Led by the Rev. Kenneth Daniel, president and CEO of United Church Homes in Ohio, the committee also includes Darlene Sowell, president and CEO of Neighborhood Houses in St. Louis; Zach Schrantz, president and CEO at UCAN in Chicago; Lee Syria, president and CEO of United Church Homes and Services in Newton, N.C.; Denise Rabidoux, president and CEO of Evangelical Homes of Michigan in Ann Arbor; Markham French, executive director of Plymouth Community Renewal Center in Louisville; and the Rev. Mary Schaller Blaufuss, United Church of Christ national staff representative and team leader of Global Sharing of Resources.
This committee has selected Diversified Search of Philadelphia, Pa., to manage and support the search process. Diversified Search has named Cynthia Barth as the lead consultant for this project. Barth has begun meeting with CHHSM staff and board members as well as the committee. Announcements about the position opening and job requirements will be going out to a variety of denominational, professional, ecumenical and industry trade organizations.
The search committee is committed to identifying highly qualified candidates from among a diverse pool of applicants who reflect CHHSM and UCC values. The goal of the committee is to recommend a final candidate for election by the board in November.
