Bethany Children’s Home Hosts Annual Summer Concert Series with Unique Fundraising Twist

Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf, Pa., is hosting its annual Summer Concert Series, but this time with a special mission in mind: all proceeds will help build a new outdoor recreational complex for the youth at Bethany.
The concert series kicks off Friday, July 18, with Lovelace 70s Band, followed by a performance from The Fabulous Greaseband on Saturday, Aug. 16. Ending the concert series with a bang is the Fall Fest with The Uptown Band on Sunday, Sept. 14. The concerts are located on the Bethany campus at 200 Bethany Rd, Womelsdorf, PA 19567.
The outdoor recreational complex project aims to enhance the lives of the youth residing at Bethany by providing them with a safe and engaging space for outdoor activities. This complex will replace the old athletic courts that were built in 1941 and are currently cracking and buckling. The construction will include brand-new basketball, tennis and pickleball courts.
“Physical activity offers a variety of therapeutic benefits to our youth at Bethany. It provides them an outlet to blow off steam,” said Senior Director of Education and Clinical Services Brandy Radwanski. “Physical activity is such a beneficial coping skill our youth have readily accessible to them on campus. It supports our youth that are experiencing stress or anxiety and can help improve their overall mood and boost self-esteem.”
