CHHSM Welcomes New Members
Trinity Hill Family Services and St. Paul’s Home Community are the latest organizations to join the CHHSM family.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Trinity Hill Family Services offers care and education for children age six weeks to 12 years. Originally launched in 2006 as part of Trinity Hill United Church of Christ, the organization seeks to provide quality childcare, including preschool, kindergarten enrichment, and before and after school programs for those who can least afford it.
Jean Oberhelman, board member and volunteer chaplain, says Trinity is hoping to expand its mission and vision by joining CHHSM.
“We’re looking for an opportunity to network with other nonprofit mission-oriented people,” says Oberhelman, who also serves as pastor at Trinity Hill United Church of Christ. “We’d like to develop some partners and resources and ways to do things a little more efficiently.”
CHHSM provides all members with access to the CHHSM Store, a group purchasing organization that offers cost efficient business supplies, equipment and services through more than 120 vendors.
Michael Readinger, CHHSM president and CEO, is excited to see the CHHSM community grow.
“I’m glad to welcome Trinity and St. Paul’s to CHHSM,” Readinger says. “We hope to provide them with the resources and community needed to help their own organizations grow and excel.”
Shari Kruep, executive director of St. Paul’s Home Community, echoes Oberhelman.
“We would like to join others in their ministry, other people within the UCC,” she says.
St. Paul’s has provided shelter care for older adults in Belleville, Illinois, since 1926. The organization began offering customized therapy and rehabilitation in 2008.
This spring, the community will celebrate the opening of its new person-centered retirement community. The $29 million expansion project will include six state-of-the-art households, each of which can serve up to 22 residents.
Kruep says she is looking forward to meeting fellow CHHSM members.
“I’m excited to meet other organizations serving seniors just like we are,” she says.
