EveryAge to Develop New Rental Community in Hickory, N.C.
EveryAge, based in Newton, N.C., announced in June a new project: BellaAge Hickory, a 95-unit independent living rental community targeted to older adults ages 55 and up. The project will offer 1- and 2-bedroom apartments ranging from 817 to 1,397 square feet, with monthly rents averaging between $2,000 to $3,600.
“This project is important because it will provide a market rate rental community and complement the products that EveryAge already offers,” said Kim Kilday, chief marketing officer, EveryAge.
Each unit will have modern finishes using an open concept and ample storage. BellaAge will offer secure, covered parking, a roof top lounge with views of the mountains, a demonstration kitchen and multi-purpose space along with a yoga studio and workout areas. Residents will easily be able to navigate the area by walking to shopping and restaurants.
“Our organization is designed to meet the evolving needs of the community and individuals we serve. BellaAge checks the boxes as a product that will provide an option for those looking for a rental option without a large entrance fee (buy-in) rate,” said Lee Syria, President and CEO, EveryAge.
At BellaAge, residents will thrive in an environment that embraces diversity. On-site activities will connect residents with like-minded interests and encourages opportunity to engage in new endeavors.
“When EveryAge searched for a location to build a rental community, the Catawba County area made sense because of our roots in the area,” Syria said. “Also, with the growth in downtown Hickory, we felt the urban setting would allow us to offer a unique and different lifestyle offering to older adults in Catawba County than anything else that currently exists.”
The project includes the repurposing of the historic Mull Building in downtown Hickory for administrative and common space areas. EveryAge is committed to respecting the history in downtown Hickory and responsibly using an existing structure.
Pre-leasing for Bella-Age is anticipated to begin in January 2024, with the construction set to be complete in Spring 2025.
