Lake Prince Woods Construction Continues for New Wellness Center

Thanks to a successful capital campaign that raised $1,467,047, EveryAge’s Lake Prince Woods, located in Suffolk, Va., is in the midst of a construction project that will create a new Wellness Center and make upgrades to its Commons area.

The groundbreaking took place this past September on the 20th anniversary of Lake Prince Woods’ original grand opening. The project is expected to be complete in early 2024.

Because of Lake Prince Woods’ focus on wellness as a lifestyle choice, the new Wellness Center will promote intellectual interests, physical abilities, and relationships with other residents and the environment.

New and revitalized spaces in Phase 1 of the building project will add to such existing wellness-enhancing resources as Lake Prince Woods’ library, outdoor trails and gardens, and chapel.

The Wellness Center will offer:

• Dedicated areas for wellness and fitness
• An art studio and classroom space
• A billiards room and pub with a bar
• A salon and massage space
• A space for Bible study and book clubs
• Spaces for bridge and other activities
• A place to entertain family and friends
• More and larger spaces to gather with the community
• Improved accessibility

The Commons renovation will include:

• An Upgrade to the main auditorium/gathering space and provide better audio-visual capabilities
• A pub-style billiards room and lounge
• Improved way-finding and increased covered space at the entrance and between buildings

A ribbon-cutting and open house will accompany the grand opening of Phase 1 next year.

Phase 2 of the project will focus on increasing capacity for Memory Care residents and improving efficiency and specialized care for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. A timetable has not yet been set for Phase 2.
