Tameka Brown Named Executive Director of Deaconess Nurse Ministry
Tameka Brown, well known nonprofit leader, has been named the new executive director of Deaconess Nurse Ministry in St. Louis. She succeeds the Rev. Donna Smith-Pupillo, who retired July 31, 2024.
Brown brings a wealth of experience to her new role, drawing from her extensive background in nonprofit leadership and community development. With more than 22 years of dedicated service, Brown has consistently demonstrated her commitment to creating a positive social impact.
Prior to coming to Deaconess, Brown held various leadership roles within nonprofit organizations and government. In these positions, she honed her skills in program management, strategic planning, and operational oversight. Her experience equips her with a deep understanding of the complexities of the work, plus a proven ability to navigate diverse challenges.
At Deaconess Nurse Ministry, Brown will a focus on collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth. She will leverage her past successes to drive the organization forward, implementing effective strategies to address pressing social issues and improve the lives of those served in the ministry.
Brown holds a master’s degree in business administration, and has completed numerous professional development courses in leadership and organizational development. She is deeply passionate about creating positive change and is dedicated to advancing the mission of Deaconess Nurse Ministry through her leadership and expertise.
