UCC-Affiliated Glenwood Community Earns Highest Honors in Resident Satisfaction Survey
Glenwood Community, a retirement community in Marietta, has been recognized for its efforts in providing the highest level of service to its residents by Holleran, a firm that specializes in conducting resident engagement and satisfaction surveys.
In the first year for the survey, Glenwood achieved the Highest Honors distinction, an annual award that recognizes Holleran clients with survey scores that exceed benchmarks. Glenwood earned Highest Honors in three of the four categories.
Glenwood Community and its parent organization, United Church Homes, seek to foster abundant life for all residents.
“We seek to know each person and offer programs that enhance their quality of life,” said Amy Kotterman, director of hospitality at United Church Homes. “We are proud of Glenwood Community for their outstanding commitment to create an environment to support successful aging and abundant life for those we serve.”
The resident engagement surveys measure how well a senior living community supports the successful aging of its residents, as measured in four areas: Voice, Connection, Fulfillment and Well-being.
Voice measures the degree to which residents are able to live independently and have a say in their environment and community. Connection represents the degree to which the community makes it easy for residents to create and maintain strong social connections, and Fulfillment represents the degree to which the community fosters an environment in which residents can maintain a sense of purpose in life and pursue their goals. Well-being represents the degree to which a community provides comprehensive access to health and wellness resources.
To earn 2017 Holleran Highest Honors, life plan communities must ask about 16 engagement factors with the domain mean falling in the 95th percentile and no domain having a standing of zero. Communities must achieve a 75-percent response rate with 20 or more respondents.
The highest scores came in the categories of Friendliness of Administration, Quality of Maintenance Services and Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff.
“It’s humbling to work with such a fabulous team here in such a great community,” Glenwood Administrator Linda Dailey said. “I’m really proud of all the staff here. This survey demonstrates our commitment to quality care.”
Holleran Executive Vice President Connie Wolfe congratulated Glenwood staff for their achievement.
“They are outperforming the vast majority of communities in our national database within the domains of Voice, Fulfillment and Connection. More engaging communities are well-rounded and provide an environment that results in positive outcomes for both the residents and their community,” Wolfe said.
