UCOM Welcomes Erik Keener as New Executive Director
The Board of Directors of United Church Outreach Ministry (UCOM) has announced that Erik Keener is the organization’s new executive director. He succeeds the Rev. Dr. Bruce Roller, who recently retired.
Keener has more than 15 years of experience at UCOM in various roles, with progressive responsibility. He is a leader in promoting a culture of health, specifically in the system of healthy food access, and he has a strong understanding of the importance of the voices and experiences of neighboring community members in planning and implementing services. In announcing Keener, the board wrote that his “operational experience, along with his relationships with existing donors and enthusiasm for expanding that donor base, will be assets to the organization as we move forward.
Following Roller’s retirement, Keener was named interim executive director. He officially began his executive director role July 8.
“Please join us in welcoming Erik Keener to his new role,” said the board announcement. “We are confident that under his leadership, UCOM will continue to thrive and make a positive impact in our community.”
