United Church of Christ’s Archway Housing and Services Opens 40 West Affordable Housing Complex

After some six years of effort, the UCC’s Archway Housing & Services’ latest complex — 40 West — opened in November. 40 West provides affordable housing for low-income families and homeless veterans.
Initial plans, drawn up in 2012, called for a four-story, 60-unit facility. There were funding delays, but construction began in 2016, and 40 West is now open for business. The completed building has six two-bedroom units and 54 one-bedroom units, 25 of which are reserved for veterans. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs sends the veterans to 40 West.
Recently, the Denver Post ran a feature article about 40 West and its service to formerly homeless veterans. Read the article.
